APPLICATION of Silicon Emulsion Defoamer Agent :

CALMUSS 204 is self emulsion defoamer type antifoams can be used in variety of industrial application.  Silicone Base defoamer function to Antifoams are specially formulated emulsion for general purpose applications. Silicone defoamers are generally preferred for better stability and more lasting defoaming power in very small concentrations. Silicone antifoams find application in various industries.

Silicon Emulsion Defoamer composition is mixture of fatty acid ethexylated and fatty acid esters with neutral carriers. The quantity of antifoam percentage will be dependent upon the application, however, it is recommended that evaluations begin at 100 ppm of the active silicone.
A typical Silicon Emulsion Defoamer dose rate 0.1-0.8% which is water-dilutable. Dosage will vary form the substance of foaming agent, temperature, and pH.

สารลดฟอง หรือสารป้องกันการเกิดฟอง (Silicon Emulsion Defoamer Agent) คือสารเคมีปรุงแต่งชนิดหนึ่งที่สามารถลดหรือขัดขวางการเกิดฟอง ในอุตสาหกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่มีของเหลวมาเกี่ยวข้อง นิยามของคำว่าสารป้องกันฟอง (Antifoam) หรือสารลดฟอง (Defoamer) นั้น ในบางครั้งมีการใช้สลับไปมาอยู่บ่อย ๆ

สารลดฟอง (Silicon Emulsion Defoamer Agent) นั้นปรกติถูกใช้ในขั้นตอนของอุตสาหกรรมต่าง ๆ เพื่อเพิ่มความเร็วในการผลิตและลดปัญหาในด้านต่าง ๆ สารลดฟองนั้นสามารถกำจัดปัญหาของฟอง ที่พื้นผิวของของเหลวนั้น ๆ หรือ กำจัดฟองอากาศที่ถูกอัดหรือเก็บอยู่ ภายในมวลของเหลว นั้นเอง มีสารเคมีหลายตำรับมากมายที่สามารถนำมาใช้ในการกำจัดฟองนี้ได้

โดยปรกติ สารลดฟอง  (Silicon Emulsion Defoamer Agent) นั้นไม่ละลายในตัวกลางที่ก่อให้เกิดฟอง แต่ตัวมันเองจะมีคุณสมบัติที่ผิวสัมผัสนั้น ๆ ได้เป็นอย่างดี คุณสมบัติที่สำคัญของสารลดฟองที่ดีคือต้องมีความหนืดต่ำ และสามารถกระจายตัวได้อย่างรวดเร็ว บนพื้นผิวของสารที่เกิดฟองอยู่ สารลดฟองนั้นต้องมีความสามารถในการจัดที่พื้นผิวระหว่างของเหลว และอากาศ ได้อย่างดีและในขณะเดียวกัน พอจับที่ผิวสัมผัสแล้วตัวมันเองต้องไปทำลายความคงตัวของชั้นผิวของฟองนั้น ๆ ด้วย ซึ่งด้วยปัจจัยตรงนี้ส่งผลให้ฟองอากาศเกิดการแตกตัวขึ้นและทำลายพื้นผิวของฟองส่วนใหญ่ได้ ในขณะเดียวกันสารลดฟองจะไปเร่งให้ฟองอากาศที่ถูกกักเก็บไว้ในสื่อนั้น ๆ รวมตัวกันได้ดีขึ้นและเร็วขึ้น ทำให้เกิดเป็นฟองอากาศขนาดใหญ่ และสามารถเคลื่อนตัวมาสู่ผิวหน้าของของเหลวนั้น ๆ ได้อย่างรวดเร็ว
